The Faces of Zion: Q&A with Shelley Jernigan

Shelley Jernigan – Accounts Payable Specialist

Q: Tell us about your role for Zion Oil

A: I guess you can say I am a woman of many hats.  As Accounts Payable Specialist, I am here to assist our accounting department with daily processes.  I also help answer phone calls, web chats and send out packets to those that request them from our website or over the phone.

Q: How has John Brown’s leadership impacted you?

A: John’s positive energy and commitment to Zion Oil & Gas is so encouraging.  Stories he has shared about his life and his passion for Zion give me hope, not only in the work environment but on a personal level as well.  His dedication to this company is truly an inspiration.

Q: What do you enjoy about working at Zion?

A: I love a lot of things about my job.  I enjoy working in different areas because that helps me grow within our company.  I work with amazing people and am blessed that God brought me here 4 years ago.  I enjoy conversations with our investors.  I think we keep positive energy around the office and that makes for a great company to work for.

Q: What brought you to Zion Oil?

A: I worked for a real estate company for 9 years prior and the company was being bought out so I was soon to be out of a job.   I went on several different interviews but none of them felt like the right place for me.  I had been praying about it when I came in contact with someone who mentioned Zion Oil.  I came in for an interview, and met everyone in the office. They were so welcoming and pleasant.  I knew in my heart this was the place for me.

Q: How do you feel about Zion’s Vision?

A: Zion’s vision is rare. People have asked why do we drill in Israel?  You can drill in Texas and be a successful company.  It’s not an easy ride.  We have had some bumps in the road but everyone wants the same thing — to bless Israel.  I believe Zion has been tested but our faith is much stronger because of it.  I’m so glad I can be a part of something so special.
