The Faces of Zion: Q&A with Lindsey Rolfe

Lindsey Rolfe – Investor Relations Specialist

Q: Tell us about your role for Zion Oil

A: My position, not unlike my coworkers, is multi-faceted. I communicate with investors by phone and email but mainly through social media and the web. You may find me answering web chat on our website (Yes, that is my face above our chat option!) and responding to facebook commentary! I also create and respond to the Updates webpage of Zion’s website. I enjoy finding interesting and exciting stories and facts to share with our readers.

Q: How has John Brown’s leadership impacted you?

A: How has John’s leadership not impacted me?! Haha John is one of the most generous men I know. He freely gives of his time and resources to be a vessel of God’s love and it shows in his actions here and away from the office. John is the heartbeat of Zion and Zion’s vision. I definitely think of John’s leadership with regard to the spiritual side of Zion, not only the operational side. He always has a word of encouragement for us, reminding us of God’s promises. I wish that all of our shareholders and supporters could have the opportunity to sit in on one of our office meetings. I leave more inspired by how God is using John to speak to my heart, my coworkers’ hearts, and in the lives of others.

Q: What do you enjoy about working at Zion?

A: God has given me a love of people and a strong ability to connect through social interactions. (Seems like a great fit for a social media gal, no?!) I enjoy speaking with our investors through web chat and over the phone because it’s an opportunity to care for our investors who may have questions! No question is a dumb question. After a couple years in graduate school, I have a bit of research under my belt and I use that skill to expand my understanding of biblical, geological, company knowledge and more.

Q: What brought you to Zion Oil?

A: I didn’t come to Zion, Zion came to me! I have shared with my coworkers, friends and family the awesome way in which God led Online Communications Manager Andrew Summey (my now supervisor) to contact me. Working two part-time positions, I had been on the hunt for a permanent full-time position. Andrew found my resume on my church website and emailed me right when I had asked God whether or not I should take another position I had been offered. Receiving Andrew’s email was affirmation that God had something else in mind for me! I have used this story to remind others how God reveals himself to those who love him (John 14:21).

Q: How do you feel about Zion’s Vision?

A: Prior to joining Zion Oil I had no experience in oil and gas or much knowledge of Israel. (I did take a course in Biblical Hebrew in college! Although I might only be able to read a bit now, I consider my pronunciation of the Hebrew letter “chet” to be pretty good! L’chaim! ) My love of Israel and God’s chosen people has grown immensely and my knowledge of the Bible, Israel, the Jewish people and traditions has expanded. Through my gift of connecting to people, I hope to share Zion’s and God’s vision to bless Israel and his descendants.
