Zion Oil & Gas Urges Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem

Zion to Resume Drilling Operations this Weekend

We are urging our supporters and Israel’s supporters to urgently pray for the peace of Jerusalem as President Donald Trump today announced his official recognition of Israel’s capital.

Zion’s management stands in unity with President Trump in supporting Israel, our key ally in the Middle East, in recognizing Jerusalem as its eternal capital. Jerusalem is unequivocally associated with the Jewish people and Israel as it is mentioned in the Bible over 800 times.

The word “Jerusalem” includes the term “shalem” which is derived from the same root word “shalom”, meaning peace, so the common interpretation of the name is now “City of Peace” or “Abode of Peace.”

Scripture implores us to “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you.’ (Psalm 122:6)

Many believe that the biblical Jubilee 50-year cycle is reflected in modern times and that this biblical year (which extends through March of 2018) represents a Jubilee Year for Israel, when dramatic events have tended to occur.

  • 1867 (150 years ago): Charles Warren discovered the original City of David;
  • 1917 (100 years ago): General Edmund Allenby entered Jerusalem on foot (to show respect) after City was liberated from several hundred years of Ottoman control;
  • 1967 (50 years ago): Israel, vastly undermanned and against all odds, defeats surrounding Arab countries in Six Day War, representing the first time in over 2,500 years that entire city of Jerusalem came under Jewish sovereignty.
  • 2017: United States recognizes Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

Leviticus 25:10 declares: “And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a Jubilee for you; and each of you shall return to his possession, and each of you shall return to his family.”

Did you know that the only biblical inscription on the U.S. Liberty Bell is “Proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all inhabitants thereof” from Leviticus 25:10? The prophet Isaiah also declares the Jubilee year as a year of God’s favor (Isaiah 61:2).

“I will bless those who bless you …” Genesis 12:3

Shalom from Zion,
