PRESS RELEASE: Zion Oil & Gas Continues Drilling in Israel
Company successfully logs, retrieves cores, cases, and cements intermediate section
DALLAS and CAESAREA, Israel, August 9, 2017 — Zion Oil & Gas, Inc. (NASDAQ: ZN) continues active drilling operations at its Megiddo-Jezreel #1 well in Israel. As of today, we have reached a depth of approximately 5,850 feet (~1,785 meters) toward a proposed total depth of up to ~15,000 feet.
Zion’s President and COO, Dustin Guinn, says, “I am encouraged by the results so far. Since our last update, Zion finished drilling through the intermediate casing interval at 1,665 meters. After running wireline logs and analyzing the data, we obtained over 20 sidewall cores from different zones within the well that spanned approximately 800 meters (~2,625 feet). The Geologic Survey of Israel is analyzing several of the cores for porosity, permeability, and other factors. After retrieving the cores, we proceeded to successfully case and cement the 13-3/8” casing string. Because this is an exploration well, it continually presents surprises, but overall, we are excited about the progress and prayerfully continue drilling ahead.”
Zion Oil & Gas explores for oil and gas onshore in Israel and its operations are focused on the Megiddo-Jezreel License (approximately 99,000 acres) south and west of the Sea of Galilee.
I watch Zion Oil for years . I was interested but did not feel the prompting to invest until December of last year. I was then I felt the prompting of the lord to make a move. I am proud to be a part of the blessings of Israel and I pray for the “peace of Jerusalem”.
I have been following and investing in Zion Oil & Gas for years, and when I heard
about the Megiddo/Jezreel well, I felt something BIG was on the way!
Hope you are using a blowout preventer!
God bless all of you and God bless Israel!
Having made a visit to Israel earlier this year for the first time (as a guest of the Beth El kibbutz, Zichron Ya’akov ), I’ve changed from a bystander supporter to actively seeking ways to get involved in blessing the Land and its people. My 30+ career is in O&G as a drilling fluids specialist (for Halliburton and most recently BP). Please let me know if there is a gap that needs filling in this technical area of operations for your company.
However, there is another thing that hit me while in Israel – their need for additional fresh water resources. As highly improbable as it may seem (as deeper water sources are more saline and Israel is sure to be already managing shallow resources), is and/or would Zion be “keeping an eye out” for a freshwater gusher, if “accidently drilled into? Sort of a modern day Moses strikes the rock conduit for a God miracle? [apologies for this type of unsolicited opinion that you must receive a lot of from well meaning – or not so well meaning – followers].
This isn’t some random thought, though, since post-Israel trip I’ve been accepted at Western Michigan U’s post grad certificate program in Hydrogeology for this fall semester – more to build a better understanding and a network (with the real experts).
In any case, may God grant Zion wisdom and multiply blessing as your company follows HIm,
Don
Good, solid, objective reports. This is a great thing, and just when those who have no faith give up and go away, we will see the “fountain (ayin) of Yakov” in a miraculous way “on a land of grain and vineyards”. Best to you for Texas oiler’s tenacity!
We are very proud of what you are doing. Our thoughts are with you each day. Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey. One day soon we will celebrate zion’s victory with you.
