Letter from Rabbi Wasserman

The following email from Rabbi Wasserman was sent to Zion Oil founder John Brown on May 17, 2015.  John shares its contents with Zion Oil shareholders and supporters to encourage and to demonstrate the powerful message that is God’s plan and Zion’s Vision for Israel!

Dear Mr Brown,

Shalom from Jerusalem on the very day that we celebrate the 48th anniversary of the reunification of Israel’s eternal capital.

Permit me to share with you a short tidbit:

There’s a well-known story about a certain woman from a prime Jewish community in the US who burst out into tears one Passover night at the Seder table when the family was singing LeShanah ha-ba’ah biYerushalayim, (Next year in Jerusalem),  the concluding hymn of the Seder.

When her concerned husband asked her what was the matter, she said, between sobs, that she didn’t want to be in Jerusalem next year. She likes her home and community right where she lives. Her husband calmed her by replying:

Don’t worry, honey, its only a song.

Jerusalem is no longer a heartfelt declaration which for nearly 2,000 years was only a song and a dream. This generation merited being able to parade and jubilantly sing throughout the day of a dream come true.

We first met at a CUFI event in Washington DC.  That you have helped the dream come true and are sustaining that dream for those of us who did come to reside in Jerusalem, on this day of celebration throughout Israel, I should like to express my sincerest gratitude.
